Outreach ministry... Seniors!!

Senior Excursions will take place the 2nd Tuesday of every month and the destination will be announced in the Church Bulletin the 1st and 2nd Sundays preceding each event. Please reserve the dates and then watch the bulletin for our next destination. (Mark your calendars for May 14, and here‘s an early hint as to our destination to whet your appetite...it will be strawberry time by that date!)

Please know that anyone 50 or over is very welcome to join these events. If you want to invite a friend, that’s great - the more the merrier, but be advised, the church van holds 13 plus the driver and church family will fill the bus first; therefore, you may need to drive with your friend to our destination. There will probably be room on the van but we just want everyone to be aware of the possibilities. Sign-ups will be requested monthly for restaurant purposes, but everyone is welcome. There’s nothing better than spending time with ‘family’ and getting to know each other better. We’re looking forward to our next gathering!

Ladies Sharing Circle Meeting News

The Ladies Sharing Circle has been busy for the last few months. At our July monthly meeting, we decided to contribute food bags to be distributed at our annual Christmas Shop. Each bag will consist of a meat, 2-3 sides, a dessert, a beverage and a bread.

Our August meeting was postponed due to the number of activities going on between school and our church.

Our September 29th meeting was attended by 11 members. A review was done of the couponing that has been done for the past year. Emily Haney is to be commended for the job that she has done. Reminders were given as to the food bags that will be contributed to the Christmas Shop.

The LSC will make a $60.00 donation to Jims Kids as a portion of our Christmas Project.

Our main Christmas Project will be to get gifts for all the girls at the Farmer Christian Academy.

Our church board has decided to have a donation offering taken on Oct. 12, 2014 to benefit the projects of the LSC. With this wonderful jester, a fundraiser will not be necessary for our group.

Our annual Christmas Banquet will be held on Dec. 4 at 6:00 p.m.

The October meeting consisted of our annual cook-out, and every member was encouraged to invite a friend, a business meeting was not conducted.

It was necessary to forgo our November meeting due to it falling during Thanksgiving week and the busy schedules of our members.

Our December meeting consisted of our Banquet which was held at Snyder Farms and was attended by 40+ guests. A good time was had by all.

Our next regular meeting will be held on January 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

We encourage all ladies of our congregation to come out and be a part of our Ladies Sharing Circle. We have a wonderful time together. If you cannot join us, please pray for God to guide us in all our efforts.
